My Book is Not Closed (Daily Word Prompt is Exposed)

My book is not closed,

my life has been exposed,

revealing who I am,

who I have been,

and who I pray to be,

leaving myself vulnerable and bare

without shelter or protection

of the many secrets

kept buried deep within myself

for many dark years of my life.

My book is not closed,

my life has been exposed,

uncovering who I am,

who I have been,

and who I pray to be,

unveiling the mask behind

my masquerade,

as I hid behind the truth

of who I truly was.

My book is not closed,

my life has been exposed,

disclosing who I am,

who I have been,

and who I pray to be,

as I  travel along the

bumpy and smooth paths,

many winding roads,

very high mountain tops,

down the cliffs below,

throughout the journey

of my severe bipolar life.

My book is not closed,

my life has been exposed,

showing you who I am,

who I have been,

and who I pray to be,

making my life open,

bringing it to light,

so others can learn

from my life experiences,

and know they are never alone

in their own life and journeys

of living with bipolar disorder,

and other struggles of daily life.

  1. Your book is always open as you share your thoughts so vividly. I hope your blog is widely read. None of us should be ashamed of mental illness. I share with all and sundry my depressive episodes including taking an overdose and being Sectioned. A great learning experience when I look back but not one I would recommend for everyone!

    • Absolutely I agree… Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of and is not a character flaw or choice it is an illness or disease in our brains… thank you for sharing… I have also learned so much about life and people because of my bipolar…. Thank you for reading my posts and for your great comments. I greatly appreciate it. Take care of yourself. I am very behind in the reading of other blogs I want to and need to read. Love, hugs and blessings always. Sue
