I Published My Book “A Bipolar Memoir of Poetry and Prose”

Here is my first published book. This is a prequel to my upcoming memoir, which I am in the process of completing. My “Bipolar Memoir of Poetry and Prose” uses a different and creatively unique approach by using my collection of poetry and prose to tell my story of my life living, surviving and eventually thriving with severe bipolar 1 disorder sharing my very honest, open and deep innermost thoughts, feelings and experiences of what it is like living with severe bipolar 1 disorder.

The beauty and difference of using my poetry and a variety of short prose is that I write with much more expression and imagery letting you experience what it is like inside a bipolar brain much more completely and detailed. My journey shares the huge obstacles and struggles I had to overcome and how I finally found the road to recovery and became a bipolar survivor.

Each page is full of the many challenges of living with bipolar, but I always end with positivity and my pages are full of courage, resiliency, perseverance, inspiration, my faith in God and how God saved my life many times throughout my life and bipolar journey of love, hope, recovery and survival. I hope you like my book.

My book just got completed very late last night, so I am not quite sure if it is 100% set for production and delivery. I pray you do order a book, but just be aware it may take a few extra days for delivery than normal. I am also possibly looking at turning this into an e-book as well. I am very excited “My Bipolar Memoir of Poetry and Prose” is finally completed, but I am even more excited to finally finish my other memoir, as I have a beautiful story and testimony that I can’t wait to share more completely with everyone.

I must be honest, that my collection of poetry and prose has come from my blog. I chose my poems and prose that best told my journey of living with bipolar 1 disorder from my diagnosis through my continuous recovery. My collection of poetry and prose combine together like an overall rough roadmap of living, surviving and thriving with bipolar disorder.

I organized my work into twelve different chapters, putting some in chronological order and organized others into similar type of topics combining them in ways to help the reader understand what it is like to live with, survive and overcome severe bipolar 1 disorder, PTSD, generalized anxiety disorder, personality disorder and postpartum depression and mental illness overall.

I made this book because I am a mental illness advocate and it is my passion to help others in as many ways as I can. I am hoping that putting some of my best poetry and prose together in a book format would make it easier for readers to read and learn from. My goal is to increase awareness and educate about mental illness, show others how severe, debilitating  and destructive bipolar can be and how there is always hope to persevere, overcome and survive and thrive. Life can be good again We need to keep fighting and overcome. There is always hope.

Also, I wanted to put my collection of poetry into a book format hoping that someone who isn’t reading my blog may get a chance to read my book and it could help them in some way. My goal is to always educate, reduce stigma and suicide and to help, encourage, inspire, love and give people hope. When there is life, there is hope and with god everything and anything is possible.

Again this book is like a prequel to my real memoir, which will be coming out as soon as possible. I wanted to have a book out and finished while I was continuing to work on my regular memoir and the other many projects I have been working on. I have many goals, maybe too many, but that most likely has to do with my hypomania which is in full swing and speed right now. Whew! Slow my brain down.

If you do buy my book, please let me know and let me know what you think of it. I hope it can help someone or many. Thanks for reading my many words and ramblings on of this post. If you are reading this, you must have read it all, so thank you very much my dear friends.

Love, hugs and blessings to all of you. Love, Sue

  1. Praise be to God for your courage! That is awesome that you are in the midst of publishing your memoir. I am as well as a survivor of domestic violence. Trauma from abuse coupled with being bipolar is sometimes a dangerous combination. I commend you for giving the word the raw truth about bipolar. Maybe sometime in the future we can do a collaboration on something. Be blessed!
