I am Not Bipolar

I am not bipolar.

Bipolar Disorder is a mental illness I have.

Having bipolar does not define me,

and is just a small part of who I am.

I will exist beside bipolar,

never letting it completely consume me.

I will exist beside bipolar,

never letting it be the center of my life.

I will exist beside bipolar,

never holding its hand,

as I am not dependent on it.

I will exist beside bipolar,

never letting it interfere with the quality of my life.

I will exist beside bipolar,

and accept it as part of who I am.

I will exist beside bipolar,

and celebrate the inner strength,

and many life lessons I have gained.

I will survive despite bipolar,

and be more than I can be.

I will survive despite bipolar,

shining brightly for all to see.

I will survive despite bipolar,

soaring and setting myself free.

I will survive despite bipolar,

and you will be proud of me.

    • Thank you. I am happy you liked my post. Yes we are not bipolar, just like someone is not cancer. We need to keep working on getting the rest of the population to speak correctly and wisely about mental illness and help reduce and prayerfully some day eliminate the stigma. Hugs, Sue
