Make Your Dash Matter

“What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash”

The Dash

I read of a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend.  He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own, the cars..the house…the cash.  What matters is how we lived and loved and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change?  For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged.

To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile…remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you lived your dash?

My Dash

My dash could have been done dashing.

Instead I am beyond blessed because my dash is not done growing and transforming.

I have been given a beautiful new opportunity to make my dash longer

and more beautiful

and better

and purposeful

and more meaningful

and important.

I am so blessed to be able to work on my dash.

I can make my dash flash.

I can make a big splash inside my new dash.

I am so blessed and I want to make my dash last.

I want my dash to have purpose and matter.

I want people to LOVE my dash.

I want to take my time with my dash.

I pray my dash will be much longer.

I pray my dash will be full of God’s love.

I pray my dash will be full of loving memories for my children.

I pray my dash will be full of examples of how I lived my life for Jesus and like Jesus.

I pray my dash will be inspirational to many.

I am so blessed to have the opportunity to make a new and meaningful loving dash.

Thank you God for my dash.

My story isn’t over yet and

my dash is not done.

What about your dash?

How will your dash look?

Make your dash long.

Make your dash beautiful

and full of loving memories.

We are so blessed that are dashes are not done.

Keep fighting and surviving

and make a big splash of love and living inside you dash.

Make your dash flash.

Much love and hugs, Sue
