Remember in September Post #1. Prevent Suicide Yesterday. Today May Be Too Late.

Today is the first day of September and September is a very important month.

September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

and I will write and share a post everyday during the month of September

for my Annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Campaign…

Remember in September (and everyday)…

Prevent Suicide Yesterday.

Today May Be Too Late.

I will explain the meaning behind the title of my campaign in my next post. During the month of September, I will share important facts, statistics and educational information about suicide and suicide prevention. I also feel it is very important to remember the many (too many) beautiful lives lost to suicide and their survivors. Plus, I feel it is important to talk about the suicide attempt survivors, as well. I try to touch on all these subjects during the month of September.

If you have any stories or information about suicide prevention you would like me to share on my blog, please let me know. I would love to share any information you have. Thank you in advance for your contributions. Together we can do this. It takes a village…

Awareness and education are the first steps in prevention.

We need to prevent suicide every minute and every hour of everyday. It is critical that everyone does their part. Do whatever you can. Be a friend, lend a hand, lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Just listen. Be there. Show someone you care. Make a donation. Help someone. Tell your story. Give someone a ride that needs one. Make someone laugh. Make a casserole and share it with someone who needs it. Pray for others. Pray with others. Be that one person that makes a difference in someone’s life.

We must end suicide YESTERDAY.

Today is September 1, 2018 and I am beyond happy and blessed to be alive. Praise God. I am a suicide attempt survivor. I am breathing and I am very happy to be alive to enjoy the beauty and gift of another day of living.

September 1st signifies a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. I am a former special education teacher and I always loved the beginning of a new school year (and fall) for that reason. It was and is a time for a fresh start and new beginnings.

Remember in September to be your best you and help others be their best. Remember when we help others we help ourselves.

The college of life is never over. We are always learning new things about life and ourselves. We can always improve and make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Let’s all work together and prevent suicide.

#BeThe1To…

SAVE a LIFE

Please visit my blog every day during the month of September to learn more about suicide and suicide prevention. Please tell others. Together we can do this. Let’s all join together and prevent suicide and SAVE LIVES.

Remember in September (and everyday)…

Prevent Suicide Yesterday.

Today May Be Too Late.

  1. I too am a suicide attempt survivor. Lucky for me I had no idea how many pills and alcohol I needed to do the job. I went to the hospital and stayed for 10 days. It was the first of 2 visits, but only tried suicide once.
